Roulette is one of the most iconic table games found at casinos all around the world. Nowadays, the game is not limited to physical casinos, as there are thousands of roulette offerings online. Access to the game has never been easier. One question that people often ask themselves before trying something new in the casino world is how much they can win without risking too much. Lucky for them, they are not the only ones looking for a couple of safe betting systems. People have been using the Martingale and Fibonacci strategies for years with great results.
The Martingale Strategy
One interesting betting strategy that some players use while playing roulette is called the Martingale strategy. This strategy is based on a very simple mathematical theory. The theory is that when you bet on something that has a 50-50 chance of winning, you should double your bet every time that you lose. Doing this, the theory suggests, will recover the cumulative losses that the gambler has incurred when he or she does eventually win. The theory is sound but this strategy does not secure the winner with much of a win. It is more of an assurance that there is not too much of a loss. When the gambler eventually hits the win that he was after, he basically just wins back all of his previous losses.
One thing to consider if trying this method out, is that it can take a long time to reach the inevitable 50% chance win that you are after. If you cannot afford to keep up with the growth of the bets as the losses keep piling up, you stand the chance of losing it all. That said, if you have a very large bankroll and are interested in small yet consistent wins that come in over the course of a longer period of time, this could be a very safe and fun way to approach the roulette table.
The Fibonacci Strategy
The Fibonacci system of betting is very similar to the above-mentioned Martingale strategy. It is based on keeping your bets on a 50% chance of winning tied to a mathematical sequence of numbers. In theory, this system is very safe when compared to a lot of other systems out there, but it does require a lot of discipline and patience and only yields mediocre wins. Similar to the Martingale strategy, the system tries to regulate losses.
To use this system, the Fibonacci sequence must be adhered to. Each number in the sequence is made up of the sum of the previous two numbers. It would look like this: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, etc. As the numbers go higher the chances stay the same, but when a win does happen, it recovers much of the previous loss. The trick here to recover all of your losses is to begin heading back towards the beginning of the sequence with each win. Every time the player wins, the next bet should be made at two places to the left on the sequence line. For example, if you were to win at 13, you would want to bet the next round at 5. If you won at 5, the next bet would be at 2. Of course, it is not very likely that a player would win several times in a row, but if they stick to the system, they will eventually make it back to the beginning, and recover their losses. This system is considered to be one of the safest to use, but also requires a sizable bankroll, and plenty of patience.
Although these systems have been proven to be effective strategies for betting on games with a 50-50 chance of winning, it is important to approach all betting ventures on the side of caution. Always remember to bet with an amount of money that you have set aside for the sole purpose of gambling.
